Customer Review: Decent performer, needs better suction and battery life

Overall this isn't too bad a unit. I purchased this when it was on sale for less than fourty bucks and feel my money got its value. In terms of performance its just average. I would rate this 3.5 stars if I could but I'll round it up.
Pros:
- Lightweight and small. HUGE difference to my corded powered Hoover. The corded unit is a pain to take out and cannot maneuver around things like table legs that are in the way. As such, I often hesitate to even bother washing the floor with that behemoth. No longer the case here as the cordless Hoover makes everything oh so easy.
- Quiet. I don't need to take out my noise canceling headphones as I absolutely had to with the corded Hoover.
- Well designed dirty water cup. It's actually a step-up from my corded model, which couldn't lock the filter top to the cup itself. This unit can do it.
Cons:
- The washing isn't as good as the corded unit. This is as the corded unit injects the water with the rotating brush AND sucks it up nearly right after. With this cordless, the suction is deactivated when the brush rotates. I know this is done to save battery but the net effect is that your floor wont be washed as well and the water can start pooling on the surface which potentially seeps through the separations on wooded floors. If you have particularly dirty floors there's a high chance of streaking with residual mud left on.
- Suction is much weaker compared to the corded unit. Must make 10 or so passes for good drying. Corded unit requires about 3-4 passes. Wastes battery life and your time.
- Battery life is poor. Looks to me like the battery is too small. They need to make it bigger. Would add a pound or two but that would be a weight gain well worth it in my opinion. Overall I can do no more than 150 square feet of flooring per charge. Fortunately I have a small home, but still need to break that into multiple sessions.
Overall, I'd say this unit is good IF you use it to clean up your floors frequently. In my case I've been using it about weekly. This keeps the dirt low, and fresh floor feeling all the time. In contrast, I would only do the corded cleaning like once a month or even less frequent since it was such a pain to do. So even though this cordless unit isn't as great, I still use it more and get clean floors more often.

The Hoover Impulse Cordless Power Mop washes and dries hard floors. The rotating Power Brush roll loosens dried on dirt and powers out tough messes. The squeegee leaves floors virtually dry.
